Tutorial/MOTD: Naked2 Palette & LIT Cosmetics - Party Glam Eyes

I have been getting a lot of requests for some eye shadow combinations using the colors from the new Naked2 Palette.  This has been my go-to palette since I purchased this a couple of months ago. You can create so many different looks from an everyday going to the office look to a night out with the girls.  The more I use this palette that more I favor it over the original Naked Palette because of the cooler toned shadows.

I needed a look that I could wear out for NYE, something not too bright and not too over the top.  I knew the Naked2 Palette would be the right choice for a mix of neutrals and dramatics.

I received a pot of LIT Cosmetics glitter called Rich Famous that I have been dying to use.  OMG I am in love!! Serioulsy, when I tried this type of glitter I knew I had to start collecting.  This company has various sizes of glitter but the popular one is #2 which is fine enough to use around the eye area.  If you are into glitter you need to check out this company.  So many different colors that you will go crazy! I literally want to collect all of them, but then I would be covered in glitter.  GORGEOUS! I did not want to take my makeup off because of the glitz that made my eye makeup come alive. So many people complimented me saying my eyes caught their attention.  I can't wait to order more

and create different looks for my Makeup Of The Days on Instagram.

10k + instagram beauties!

Thank you to all my Instagram beauties for all the love and support you have given me since I started my MOFD posts.  I never expected my daily pictures would turn into something that people actually admire and look forward to every day.

How it all began...

I work a regular job during the weekdays still in cosmetics but not actually glaming up myself and customers.  I missed playing with makeup, creating different styles and using different techniques to achieve that perfect look.  One night I was bored I sat at my armoire while my boyfriend in the background watched football and just played.  I showed him my look and he told me to take a pic and post it on Instagram.  Sure, why not.  I didn't expect to see so many beauties be interested, and that's how it all got started.  The looks you see are not the looks I go out grocery shopping in or clean the house in, it's rather just a time for me to step out and just play!  People ask me if you don't wear it out it's just a waste of makeup.  I have tons and tons of makeup, (

) and I might as well put it to good use, plus it's a time for me to go back to what I love and be creative.  My Instagram is a showcase of compiled celebrity, new product, season, and personal inspired looks for makeup inspiration for any occasion.  I usually make-up the look the night before I post while watching tv or while the boyfriend is playing his MW3 (UGH.)  My iPhone is the only device I take my MOTD pictures with but with the help of 2 flourescent lamps with daylight bulbs. I then edit with Picstich, BeFunkyPro, and Iwatermark apps for the Iphone.

I created the hash tag #mymotdstyle for all the beauties to share their makeup of the days with everyone and myself to share their looks.  It has been a major success and it's great to see all the different styles.  Keep tagging ladies!!!

Last week I reached 10k followers, I cannot be more thankful to all my followers.  I will continue to bring looks that all of you will be interested in as it brings me joy reading all your comments. I have met some wonderful people who share the same interest as I do from all over the world.  I am excited to see what 2012 will bring me and I cannot wait to share all the success, special events and makeup adventures with all of you.  Thank you thank you sooo much!!!! Love you guys!!

I wanted to share some sweet comments from some of my followers.

I cannot get enough of my Naked2 Palette, it has now replaced my original Naked Palette.  I have been getting a lot of questions about which palette is better and what is the difference.  Personally, I like the cooler toned colors better as they are colors I would tend to gravitate more for my skin coloring.  If you like more warm/golden hues then the original Naked Palette would be better for you.  Think of the two Naked Palettes as gold and silver jewelry.  You wear one for particular looks that match your outfits, the season, or even your mood.  It’s really up to you.

I wanted to create a MOTD (makeup of the day) that would showcase some of the cooler toned/taupe colors from the palette.  Many of my beauty followers have been asking me for NYE looks and I thought this would be perfect to add a touch of glitzy glam.

A tip I always share with my clients is that you really need to make sure to blend blend blend!! As a makeup artist, the technique to blending is important to make the colors fade into each other.  A blending brush will be your own personal makeup artist.  MAC #224 brush is my personal favorite, but if you can’t afford this brush and want affordable brushes try

I have been slacking big time with the tutorials, but FINALLY I have uploaded one.  I dislike doing videos because it takes forever to edit but I found some shortcuts which will help me get these up and going again.  I decided to do a tutorial on a basic look with the new Naked2 palette.  Which I am LOVING!!!
