MOTD: lime green/purple smokey

I was inspired by a picture of a look that I saw that had similar shades of green and purple. Thought I would give it a try to see how it looked. I love purple eye shadows especially when the color is incorporated into a smokey eye. When I was finished with the look I wasn't sure if I liked it. Green is a color I usually don't wear but I decided to step out of my comfort zone. As a makeup artist I explore with lots of colors and textures with my clients but for some reason I always stick to plain ol neutrals for myself. Makeup is about experimenting and having fun, so I went ahead and posted on Instagram. To my amazement my followers loves it and that's what makes me happy

Hello Beauties!

First of all I wanted to say I am sorry for not blogging and posting videos like I use to.  To tell you the truth I gave up for a little bit, I thought I wasn't getting anywhere with it.  But I started to post my makeup looks on Instagram and the spark started up again.  I have been getting so many comments and support regarding my makeups that the only thing I can do is to give back to my supporters.  Going forward I will make a video tutorial from one of the popular looks from my Instagram account.  Make sure you cast your vote!

Here's a sneak peak of a look that I will be making into a tutorial.

To all my followers thank you thank you thank you for always giving me the inspiration to do what I love and share it with others who appreciate it.  I promise I will continue to share all things... beauTIFFul with all of you.

Skincare Routine

Lately I have been getting a lot of requests asking what cleanser I use for my face.  I do not use anything too expensive (well I do use LaMer moisturizer, more about that later) all natural and can be found at your local Whole Foods grocery store.  For the past year since my boyfriend and I moved to the city we have been eating and using products that are more organic and natural.  My skin would always be breaking out because of stress due to my job. I would then use an expensive cleanser and treatment and breakout or get really dry because of the ingredients in the products.  For the past 6 months I have been using some great products that help me make my skin looking great.

Makeup Remover - Kirkland Signature Daily Facial Cleansing Towelettes.  I like how I can buy these in bulk at Costco, I believe there's 11 packs in 1 box.  I even use these towelettes to remove my eye makeup, does not irritate my eyes.  Smell is not too overpowering and the packaging is compact.

Cleanser - Earth Science A-D-E Creamy Cleanser.  This cleaner is a natural fruit oil cleanser for dry/sensitive skin.  The fruit oils remove makeup without the dryness of soap, plus the smell is fantastic.  I love how it does not contain artificial colors, mineral oil, soaps, harsh preservatives, or irritating petroleum products.  It will not clog pores.  You can find this at Whole Foods for under $10 sometimes it's on sale.  Yippee.  I use this cleanser with my handy dandy Clarisonic.  It's amazing how good your skin feels after you wash your face.

Earth Science Skincare

Scrub - Earth Science Gentle Facial Scrub.  I only this this once a week just to remove the dryness around my nose area. This scrub does have apricot seed but the lady at Whole Foods told me that they mill the apricot seed a different way than they do with the rest of the scrubs so it's a little bit more fine.

Night Moisturizer - Creme de La Mer Moisturizing Cream.  I am very blessed that I get to experience this product as it is the creme of the crop for moisturizers. I have been receiving this as a gift for the past couple of years.  It is very expensive but I have been seeing differences in the tone and texture of my skin.  It is very rich and emollient this is why I only use this at night.

Here is some information about this product taken from their website. "The original miracle, borne from Dr. Huber's quest to heal his own skin's scarred appearance. This ultrarich cream transforms skin on contact and soothes sensitivities. It helps heal even the driest complexions and dramatically renews skin's appearance. Skin in any state will benefit from this nourishing treatment, but it is especially suited to very dry complexions. To this day, each opal jar is filled by hand to maintain its delicate balance.  To learn more about La Mer products click

Day Moisturizer - Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Daily Calming

Moisturizer. Hypoallergenic, paraben free and 98% natural product. I am very picky with my day moisturizers because I already apply so much stuff on my face, I hate the feeling of makeup that feels heavy! YUCKO! This moisturizer is very lightweight with a clean fresh scent.  Your skin just sucks it all up like it drank water. More info can be found here

Yes to Cucumbers Moisturizer

Hope I gave you some insight on what types of products work for my skin type (combo/sensitive).  Keep in mind that you may not get the same results as I do.  Read labels/boxes, research products on the web and ask experts at Whole Foods (which I find very knowledgeable).  Here's to flawless skin!

My Favorite False Eye Lashes Model 21

I have been in the beauty industry for about 10 years already, I love it.  There's so much out there to play, touch and feel the possibilities with color and textures, there is never a dull moment.

For those of you that have been following me either on YouTube, villabeautifful.com, Instagram or Facebook you notice I always wear falsies!.  I love false lashes!!  I think of them as the finishing touches to your makeup, like the frosting on a cake.  It just adds that extra piece of glam.

I am always looking for the best value on makeup products especially items that you use daily or if you are a makeup artist products you use on clients.  I came across the eye lashes by Model21 Eyelashes on ebay a couple years ago, but wished they had their own website I could order from.  Just last year while I was searching the web I cam across their very own site. Hooray! Here are some points why I love these lashes so much.

  • 10 pairs of Model 21 falsies in one box
  • Free shipping with orders of 3 box eyelashes or more (USA) They also take international orders, different shipping rates apply.
  • Free 1 box with purchase of 4 or more (same brand) The free lash is selected for you.

I had a client/friend of mine wear these on her honeymoon in Aruba.  She went out swimming and she still had her lashes on!  Also shipping is fast, no waiting around for these lashes to arrive.

Below you will find some of the styles that I have ordered in the past.  On their website its hard to see the styles up close. Also I have enclosed some pics of me wearing the lash so you can see what they actually look like on.

Model 21 Eyelashes 1T, 2T, & 3M28

Model 21 Eyelashes 6T, 16T, & 17T

Model 21 Eyelashes 19, 25, & 27T

Model 21 Eyelashes 31, 40, & 63

I really like to design my own lashes by layering on different styles on top of each other, you can create so many different type of styles.  If you are wondering about my different eye looks you can find my Makeup Of the Day's on my Tumblr blog or on Instagram.

You will be taken directly to the model 21 website

Have fun! Let me know if you need some help deciding! :)

My Makeup Vanity/Storage/Armoire

Over a year ago my boyfriend and I moved in together, buying a condo in the city.  I love living in the city but finding room to fit both of our "things" in a 850 sq ft condo was very tricky.  I will admit I had a lot of "things" from clothes, makeup, and craft supplies scattered all over the condo, which then made our place look cluttered.  The biggest problem was my makeup collection and not having a place for me to sit down and get ready.  The lighting in the bathroom wasn't so great, I love doing makeup in natural daylight.  When we moved in I took over a little corner near the dining room table with all my plastic storage containers.  The boyfriend hated looking at all my makeup scattered all over the dining room table and not having  a place to eat.  Our 2 week project was set into action.  Both of us searched everywhere for something that would be practical, functional and at the same time look amazing out in the open in our condo.  I came across a website called

IKEA HACKERS

, a gentleman made a vanity makeup armoire for his hairstylist girlfriend.  They too had the same problem as ours, small space but need stylish storage. We twerked the design a little to fit all my needs; a place for me to get ready, storage for all my makeup and a nice area for me to do makeup on clients when they come over.

I am completely in LOVE with the final outcome of my own little area, it is everything I ever wished for.  It took many trips back and forth to Ikea and a hefty amount of $$$ but it was all worth it.  This couldn't have been done without my loving, supportive boyfriend who puts up with me and my makeup collection.  Hope you enjoy my pictures!

The makeup armoire consist of 2 bookshelf type storage.  At Ikea you can customize the side of the frame, size, drawers, wood, and etc. The smaller unit with the mirror is where I have my clients sit in front of.  I use the top of the unit as a table to lay out all my products I will be using.  The mirror is a great add on for clients to see their new look.

Behind the longer door is where you will find the "vanity" portion of my makeup booth.  The lights are powered by an outlet behind the unit, the boyfriend drilled a hole to wire the plugs to the back.  There is also a working power strip inside for me to plug in my curling iron and hair straightener, it is also wired to the outlet in the back of the unit.  The pull out table is so handy, and the magnetic brush board makes everything clutter free.

The drawers filled with all sorts of makeup goodness! My palettes are organized by a CD/DVD liner to make the palettes stand.

This is what is inside of the 2nd smaller unit.  Basically supplies, and surplus/brand new makeup.  The white storage containers are filled with MAC pigments.

Can't forget my Zuca and MAC briefcase for on-location work.  I'll post pictures later of all the makeup that's inside this little guy.

Now you know why I am so in love with my makeup armoire.

Let me know what you guys think.
