Tutorial: Colour Pop Eyes For Fall

Hair and Makeup Addiction Brushes

I have been getting a lot of questions about the brushes that I use for some of my looks- here it is! This complete set is from Hair and Makeup Addiction- the brushes are synthetic hair with bamboo wood handles plus Vegan friendly!   Visit the site for other sets if you feel you don't need a complete one like this- there's sets for eyes, face and individual.  So many uses for each one that you really don't need any other brushes.  I know, at times,  a big set like this can get confusing or overwhelming but don't you worry! You will find the name of the brush labeled on the handle- the names relate to the the purpose of the brush.  Of course, you don't have to use it for the particular purpose/feature but hey at least you won't be left in a dark.  I will do a more in-depth review of these brushes and how I like to use them.

MOTD: Bridal Makeup Jannett

Bridal Makeup- villabeautifful

I love doing bridal makeup and being part of a bride's special day.  Jannet contacted me 2 weeks ago regarding makeup for her wedding (she actually planned her wedding in 2 weeks!)  I always tell my brides to send me pictures of makeup styles that interest them. This really helps me get inspired and see what type of direction they would like to take.  Jannet was a super easy bride and I love the end results of her makeup.  Smokey eye, nude/pink lip perfect makeup for an evening wedding.

Here are the products that I used to create this look

  • Embroylisse Lait-Crème Concentre moisturizer
  • Whip Hand Cosmetics Set The Stage Makeup Primer
  • Belletto Studio Airbrush Makeup Y3 Latte and Y4 Sweet Honey
  • MAC Cosmetics NW25 under eye NC30 redness
  • Smashbox Photo Finish 24 Hour Shadow Primer (THE BEST!)
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo Ebony
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel
  • Anastasia Beverly Hills Catwalk Palette (my go-to bridal palette)
  • MAC White Frost / Nylon Shadow Highlight inner corner
  • MAC Chromaline Black Black for top liner
  • Urban Decay Cosmetics 47/7 Glide On Eye Pencil Zero
  • MAC Peachykeen Blush
  • MAC Angel Lipstick with Spice Lip Pencil

I wish I would have done these before and after makeups more! I totally regret not doing them during my whole makeup career.  Oh well here's to a new start!

MOTD: Colour Pop So Quiche Shadow

I've been a HUGE fan of the Colourpop Cosmetics Super Shock Shadows (click here COLOURPOP to read/view all the looks I've created with the cream shadows and for swatches/review).  I was recently sent the new fall colors and they are freaken gorgeous!!! Don't worry I'll have swatches for you very soon!

I really love the sparkly goodness in these shadows, the colors they came in, the ease of wear and of course the price point- $5!!

Here is how I created this look:

  • MAC Cosmetics Saddle Eye Shadow (Crease), Carbon (outer corner), Seedy Pearl (highlight) and White Frost  (inner tear duct highlight).
  • Colour Pop Cosmetics So Quiche Super Shock Shadow on the lid and smudged on the lower lashline.  I used my finger to apply the shadow because I find that your fingers will be the best tools for application especially with the cream consistency.  Before you begin make sure your fingers are nice and clean ;). Instead of using a blending the product back and forth use a patting motion with your finger- this will create a more pigmented base resulting in super impact color and shine!
  • NYX cosmetics Gel Liner and Smudger in Betty
  • House of Lashes Siren Lashes
House of Lashes Siren

Before you go I wanted to show you how amazing these lashes are!! One of my ultimate favorite styles.  Remind me of MAC #35 lashes.

Creativity: Craft / Scrapbooking Supplies Daily Deals

Craft and Scrapbooking Daily Deal Sites

I've been buying a lot of  supplies for  Project Life, Filofxing and general crafting a lot lately. As much as I love buying all the cute little embellishments everything can add up and get pretty pricey- especially when you are just starting out.  I hate buying things regular price and if I can get a deal on it then why not?! Right?! Then I can buy more since its on sale or at a discounted price.  Don't you love the way I think? ;) I was up late one night looking for craft/scrabooking sites that offer flash sales or daily deals such as the fashion/clothing sites like Hautelook, Ideali and Gilt.  I didn't find too many but here is a list of the ones that I make frequent visits to on a daily basis.  Do keep in mind that each site releases daily deals at different times- sign up for the daily alerts to hit your inbox so you don't miss out!

When I wake up in the morning this is the first thing that I check on my Ipad right after I hit my alarm. Blitsy is a one-stop shop for all your crafting needs- including quilting supplies, sewing, sketching, painting and everything else in between.  I've made about 5 purchases via this site from Me and My Big Ideas Project Life Cards ($3.49 for a set) to Washi Tape, Project Life Kits, Heidi Swapp embellishments and my latest purchase Studio Calico Wood Veneers which I am totally obsessed with.

Here's some information about Blitzy regarding their site:

Here are a couple pictures from my recent order everything was less than $50.  One thing I should mention is that it does take a long time to ship.  If you don't need it right away go head and order but if you need it within a week I would pass up on it.

Scrapbook Steals Website

Scrapbook.steals.com is another one of my go-to sites for daily deals on scrapbooking supplies.  You will see a lot of  current and past scrapbooking paper sets from some of the top brands in the industry.  The sets consists of embellishments, cut-outs, stickers, paper packs and etc that are all part of the series.  Great if you do scrapbooking and want to save money on having everything match.  They also offer a lot of supplies to get your collection going.  I was able to purchase Colorbox Ink pads at a great price to build up my ink pad collection to offer more variety in colors.

Here is the description of the site from Scrapbook.steals.com

STEALS.som sites are deal-of-the-day websites. We sell boutique-quality products for women at up to 80% off until they sell out. Everyday at 8am and 8pm PST another "steal" starts at a price so good that it's not just a deal, it's a steal! If you missed out on a  steal, check back—there's always something new every 12 hours!

Here is my recent purchase from Scrapbook.steals.com.  I needed some alphabet stickers for my Project Life layouts- $2.50 for each one! YAY!

Alphabet Stickers
Peachycheap.com

Peachycheap.com is a little different from the rest of the sites because they only have 1 deal a day. I've seen paper packs, embellishments, basic craft supplies like adhesives and Washi Tape.  This is how I grew my collection which is very extensive right now (I'll post a picture).  I also noticed that the price for things are very low and such a great deal that it's hard to pass up.   The email notifications do some at night at 10:00 PM MST, perfect time if you are sitting in bed and have the urge to do some shopping! :)

My last order was the small Heidi Swapp stamp sets that I have been eyeing at Michaels.  I think I purchased the set for $8.

Heidi Swapp Stamps
Craftysteals.com

The last site I wanted to share with you is Craftysteals.com.  This one is different from scrapbook.steals.com and is equally amazing! For the past 2 months that I have been stalking this site I do notice that they do sell out faster on their deals from the other sites.  A different steal is posted every day at 12am CST, 7 days a week. You can find various crafting and scrapbooking supplies here also from top brands in the industry.  I love purchasing supplies in bundles just like the one featured in the picture above.  I did order it :D.

I hope you guys enjoyed my post! You can thank me later when your craft supplies and collections start growing!

Tutorial: Bright Eyes with Naked 1 Palette

Naked 1 Bright Eyes

It's been a couple of years since the Urban Decay Naked 1 Palette has been released and to this very day it's still my favorite. The rich collection of metallic golds, bronzes and neutral browns make it my go-to palette for everyday wear and for an evening out.  This is also the palette of choice by a lot my brides that I have worked with over the years.

I totally forgot to post this look for the summer time since a bright lip (especially orange) is always on trend for the season.  I didn't want it to go to waste and thought that the neutral eye shadow would be appropriate all year- just change up the lip shade.  The Champagne L.A. Girl Glide Gel Liner with the shadow Sin from the palette really brighten up the eyes.

URBAN DECAY NAKED PALETTES IN A Z-PALETTE

In the video I show you a glimpse of my depotted Naked Palettes (1-3) and a limited edition Smashbox Soft Box Palette (wish this was available all the time).  I love having all my "neutral" palettes in one place, easy for me to grab and create looks with all of the shades and keep my kit nicely condensed.  The picture of all three palettes that I printed from my computer and taped to the back of the palette is from THE FABZILLA.  Her blog is amazing and very detailed with swatches.  If you would love to see how I did this please leave a comment below!

Here's a tutorial to make your eyes brighter using the Urban Decay Naked 1 Palette. The pace of the tutorial is pretty fast so I could fit all the details for you in the video. For more info including pictures of my depotted Naked Palettes in the Z-palette visit my blog.

Here is the product breakdown of the products that I used to create the look
