Spring Cleaning

Look for a new blog layout soon! I was getting sooo bored with the current one and I thought it would be a nice change.

Last weekend I was cleaning out my makeup collection but didn't make much progress.   I usually cycle through my makeup.  This means I have 1 drawer with all my products that I use on a daily basis excluding the makeup that I use for MOTD (those are stored in the regular collection). So the "everyday drawer" has products from fall and winter now it's time to add some color with soft pastels and brighter washes of color to the drawer.  The past season colors go back to the collection to be brought back towards the end of the year.  My makeup collection is pretty heavy, I am a hoarder I will admit. I do not even use all of it, many products still in boxes and I do give a lot of it away to friends.  (hint hint... giveaway coming soon :) ) I do have a professional kit that always needs replenishment every couple of months due to wear and tear from on location events.  I love makeup enough said... lol

The clutter.. and it's still like this.. At least it's just 1 drawer

The Cutest Brush Roll EVER!

I love supporting independent shop owners who make their own handmade goods like the ones you can find on

Etsy

.  Recently I have been addicted to Etsy, all these cute things that I want to buy.  For the past several year I have been on the lookout for the PERFECT brush roll.  You might be wondering what is the perfect brush roll in my eyes? Well, I must have lots and lots of pockets to hold my valuable tools.  Pockets not only for different size brushes but  for must have products that I use on all my clients such as eye liners, eyelash glue, setting spray in a small travel size bottle and etc.  A protected flap that would protect my brushes when they were not in use. Many brush organizers out there are belts.  I am a petite filipino girl and a belt loaded up with brushes weighs me down.  Even when I worked for MAC I did not wear my brush belt around my waist instead I wore is over my shoulder like a messenger bag.  Even if the organizer wasn't a belt it would be a roll but it wouldn't be able to hold all my brushes. Yes, I could just bring a few brushes with my when I am on location but I like to be prepared.  It's hard when you have a big wedding party, doing makeup one after the other and having to clean your 1 set of brushes after each person.  I rather put away the dirty brushes to clean at a later time when I am not busy and start on the new client right away.  Being in the industry for over 10 years I have not found anything that met my standards but I knew someday I would be able to find something.

Ever since I found the wonderful site Etsy, I have a been a big fan of Lotus from

asoftblackstar on Etsy

.  She makes

makeup brush rolls,  makeup bags, flat irons,  and jewelry cases with cute fabrics that can match your personality.  I happened to browse through her store and BEHOLD a brush belt that looked like it would be big enough to hold all my makeup goodies... BUT it was a belt and you know how I feel about belts.  I send Lotus a message via Etsy for a custom made brush roll, instead of a belt if she can design a roll.  Lotus is so sweet and wonderful, she asked questions to determine and needs and wants that I had, listened, created and delivered!  For the fabric I chose a pink and white polka dot inside with cheetah print for the pockets and the outside

. I am so happy how my roll turned out.

It is advised that you spray the brush roll with Scotch Guard before you use it, to make it stain and water resistant.  It's great because if it gets dirty you can just throw it in the wash.  Since my special request Lotus is now offering this design as a regular item in her shop.  For all the makeup artists out there.. YOU NEED THIS! Cute and functional!

Here are some pics... ENJOY!

This is what it looks like when it's rolled up.

Unrolled and ready to use!

Tutorial: Soft Aqua/Lime Eye with Viva Glam Nicki!

Since I was a teenager I have been a loyal MAC ADDICT not because of the great selection of products and colors but because this company gives back to others.  In 1994 the MAC Aids Fund was established  to create awareness and educate people on HIV/AIDS around the world.  Every cent of a Viva Glam Lipstick or Lipglass purchased will help people living with affected and by AIDS/HIV.  Every couple of years the company picks a new Viva Glam Spokesperson to represent the company on a whole new campaign to spread awareness with a powerful lipstick color that they choose.  This year MAC chose Ricky Martin (lip conditioner) and Nicki Minaj (flamingo pink lipstick) - two very influential people in the music industry today.

I love the Viva Glam Niki lipstick, it is a gorgeous pink that compliments my skin tone very well.  This is my favorite pink of all time.  I decided to make a tutorial on how to wear this lipstick with brighter eye colors.  I didn't notice until I was finished with the video that Nicki's makeup in the campaign advertisements were identical to the colors that I used except switched.  :)

Enjoy watching!

Ciracle Enzyme Powder Wash Review

What's the secret to having a perfect complexion? People instantly say foundation is the key. Actually, in my own opinion, its all about the skincare and how you treat your skin without any makeup on. I am not a skincare savvy person as I am with makeup but I feel that skincare can be as important as the makeup you are wearing.

I've always wanted to try Korean Skincare and from my recent travel to the Philippines I saw skincare from Korea all over the place.  Recently, I was given a chance to choose a product to review from

WishTrend.com

a company that delivers trendy beauty, fashion and entertainment from Korea to all over the world.  The website is easy to navigate and very eye catching. The beauty section is packed with products for both men and women for different skin types and concerns.  It was very hard to choose just 1 product for me to review but after much consideration and reading descriptions of the products (which by the way are very detailed) I decided to try the

Circacle Enzyme Powder Wash

.($19.99 USD)   It's not a liquid, gel, cream or whatever else kind of cleanser you have come in contact with but this one is actual loose powder.

This is the description from the website

Pure and Natural Enzyme Powder Cleanser

Gently wash away makeup and impurities with an instantly enzyme powder wash that softens skin while leaving it looking healthy and revitalized and feeling clean and refreshed.

If you visit the product on their website it gives you step by step instructions on how to use the product along with a nice image of the product.  When I am on the market to find a new cleanser I am always looking for one that will remove left over makeup.  Since the Ciracle Enzyme Powder states that it will remove makeup residue I wanted to see if it actually worked.  My skin is also very sensitive to harsh chemicals (my skin will dry out very easily) and I will start to break out because of certain ingredients. I really like how the website listed the ingredients for this product, knowing that it is cornstarch base I knew that it would be sensitive for my skin.  Also the label on the front of the bottle says the cleanser has Willow Bark and Papaya Extract as  ingredients which help soothe the skin when it gets irritated.

Once I received the product I was so excited to use it! I just finished doing a MOTD (makeup of the day) for the next day that it was the perfect time to test my new cleanser. I did take off my makeup with a makeup wipe to remove a few layers of makeup.  Make sure your hands are dry before pouring some of the Ciracle Enzyme Powder in your hands or else it will create a cream-liquid consistency.  When I started cleansing my face I could feel the grains of  powder exfoliating my skin.  The powder has a slight flour smell to it but nothing too overpowering, it actually smells like something natural or organic.  Once you rub the cleanser on your face it starts to bunch up and bind together like the picture.  I cleansed my whole face which didn't take much powder and rinsed off with warm water.  Very easy and it was actually fun.  Did it take all my left over makeup? YES!!! I could see all the makeup residue that my makeup remover wipe did not take off all over my hands and staining the powder.  I am very impressed with this cleanser! I wish it was a little bit bigger or the company provided 2 different sizes because this bottle (60g) would at most last me only 1-2 months especially when I wash my face twice a day.  My boyfriend even tried it and he really likes it because it was very sensitive for his skin and his skin felt very clean.

I also wanted to mention that the back label of the Ciracle Enzyme Powder is in Korean but if you email the lovely people from wishtrend.com the will be happy to translate for you.

I hope you guys enjoyed my review of this amazing powder cleanser.  It is definitely added to my everyday skincare routine.

Thank you Dusan from WishCompany for letting me to review this product!

Tutorial: Naked 1 Palette Smokey Eye With A POP of Color

Spring is just around the corner, but of course here in Seattle it doesn't stop the rain. I've been seeing a lot of great new trends that I can't wait to share with all of you. Many new makeup users are always scared to wear color on their lips or on their eyes. It's always best to pair a bright color with something that you are comfortable wearing. For some people it could be a neutral eye with a pop of a colored eyeliner. Or perhaps using a neutral lip liner with a bright fuchsia lipstick. I love pairing a dark eye with some bright colors as this brings more attention to the eye area. There are many ways to incorporate some bright toned hues but the easiest and simplest way is the drop shadow effect (smudged colors on the lower lashline).

Take a peak at my newest video. :) I wish I had someone to edit all my videos... any takers? lol
